Founded in 2016, The Haven at Pismo is a Social-Model Drug and Alcohol Treatment program located on the central coast of California. Peer Support Specialist

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Client care that includes, but not limited to: A working knowledge of the program schedule, able to assist in scheduling groups, therapies, and activities, outside appointments and meals.  Must be able to demonstrate compacity to teach, support and model total recovery and renouncing all addicting.  Provides a safe living environment for clients, staff and facility, which includes, but not limited to: Searches of rooms and clients for contraband, minor housekeeping, and assistance with meals. Uphold house rules for contraband and cleanliness.  Recognizes when crisis intervention is applicable. Completes the necessary documentation, written and Electronic Health Records, (EHR). Notifies staff of policy and procedure compliance.   Assists with patient admission process, including UA testing for patients of same sex.  Medication responsibilities that include, but not limited to: Self- administration of medication, medication monitoring, management and medication counts.

QUALIFICATIONS:

An understanding of the “12 step” program, or other recovery based systems.  Valid drivers license.   Have registration completed as a RADT with https://www.ccapp.us/ladder/  Some experience in the field of alcohol and/or drug service (personal or scholastic).  Computer competence (Microsoft Word, Excel, EHR).   Ability to effectively communicate with staff and clients



Healthcare Technician

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The position of Healthcare Technician requires the capacity to teach, support, and model total recovery and renouncing all addicting.  Guides in the client’s own self-administration of medications, along with medication monitoring and management, receiving medication orders via verbal, phone, and/or text.  Will be required to transcribe medication orders, perform medication math, documenting and uploading medical information to electronic chart.  Maintaining and actively engaging in emergency medical procedures when needed.  This position assists with the scheduling of outside appointments, limited admissions assessments, assessing for withdrawal severity, UA and breathalyzer sampling.  May provide medication and diet education to clients.  Requires collaborating with staff, counselors, interpersonal and therapeutic communication, and light cleaning of common areas and dishes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

An understanding of the “12 step” program, or other recovery based systems.  Valid drivers license.  Hold current licensure with applicable California licensing board as a Psychiatric Technician or Licensed Vocational Nurse, or other comparable licensure.  Some experience in the field of alcohol and/or drug service (personal or scholastic).  Computer competence (Microsoft Word, Excel, EHR).   Ability to effectively communicate with staff and clients


Nurse Practitioner/Physician’s Assistant

We are seeking a part-time, per diem Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant for afternoons, early evenings, and weekends at an addiction treatment center located in Grover Beach, California. Duties include:

  • Performing admission histories and physicals
  • Providing back up on-call coverage for clients in our residential treatment programs
  • Providing psychopharmacology services.

Background and/or interest in addictions treatment preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant licensure that is active and in good standing
  • Current DEA license
  • Buprenorphine Waiver (Preferred)
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • CPR and First Aid certification
  • Experience working in Substance Abuse and/or Psych preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Energetic and positive attitude
  • DEA Certification (Required)
  • Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant (Required)
